On the PC which uses outlook:

1) Enable dumpster for all folders in Outlook (optional for Outlook 2007)
a. Load Registry Editor on the client runs Outlook.
b. Locate key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\Cli ent\Options].
c. Right click key Options and select New -> DWORD Value.
d. Type DumpsterAlwaysOn as the name and set the data to 1.

I dont know, if this affects the mailbox, or, if this is only a client only option.
But, this looks like it even works if I am on MacMail, then delete something, empty the trash, quit MacMail, then go in to outlook, then I am able to undelete the mail from Outlook.

nobody...
Ok, I added the registry and read the MS KB Q246153 from Microsoft....
Actually, I didnīt know about this feature, it really impressed me....
I revise and found out the following...
I checked the Recover Deleted Items on Outlook and it turns out that the two ghost messages that were deleted from the MAC/iPad and then deleted right away again from deleted items doesnxxx8217;t appear under the recovered deleted items, like if they never reached the deleted items and were Hard-Deleted, as if sometime the MAC deletes the message and then creates a new one on the Deleted items.. Going crazy here...

If they were deleted before you turned on deletion protection for all folders, you can AFAIK only recover items, which you delete later.
If they deletion protection was previously turned on only for the inbox and the trash, and the items originally were located in adifferent folder, you als cannot recover them.

Try again now, after you launched outlook.

I have not turned on hard deletes, but i might try today night.

But, after you now turned on the deletion protection for all folders, make another try if it now behaves different.
(Dont haven ipad, but a ipod touch and an mac with 10.6)

Here is what I tried:
Instead of reading my mail on the BB in the morning I did a shutdown of the handheld.
Then I used apple mail and did whatever with the mail, deleting about 8 items and marked read another 5. Emptied the trash, quit mail. Openend mail again.
Turned on the blackberry.
Seconds after the BB logged itself into the network all items were syncronized and matched the view in apple mail.

I hope, this is similar to your situation. I do not turn off/cannot turn off the BB during the night, because I accept calls at any time.

I checked the trash in outlook 2007 if those deleted items are recoverable and that is the case.

so no ghost messages this time here.

nodoby!!! thank you very much!!!

I see that you have almost the same logs as I do..

[40182] (10/22 07:01:23.123):{0x1AE0} {user1@domain.com} MAPIMailbox::RefIDtoEntryID - Found RefId=-1398420215

That weird error of OpenEntry (0x8004010f) failed, I think this is done by the Mac and not Outlook....

I think the problem is when you delete an email so fast that not even it stays on the Deleted Items.... let me see through this and think about a possible solution....

Thank for everything!!

If you search for this line in the web,
KB03886-"HandleObjectModifiedNotification - OpenEntry failed" log entry

is found. In this KB there is something about meeting invitations, but not about email.
But 0x8004010f is a mapi general error - object not found.

If I understand the log correct:
Code:
[40228] (10/22 07:01:20.108):{0x2C58} {user1@domain.com} Queuing notification of hard-deleted mail, RefId=-1398420215
[40228] (10/22 07:01:20.108):{0x2C58} {user1@domain.com} Queuing notification of hard-deleted mail, RefId=-2048035921
[40228] (10/22 07:01:20.108):{0x2C58} {user1@domain.com} Queuing notification of hard-deleted mail, RefId=-550167980
[40228] (10/22 07:01:20.108):{0x2C58} {user1@domain.com} Queuing notification of hard-deleted mail, RefId=-1199783686

and:

[40405] (10/22 07:01:34.123):{0x2C58} {user1@domain.com} MAPIMailbox::HandleObjectModifiedNotification - OpenEntry (0x8004010f) failed
[40405] (10/22 07:01:34.123):{0x2C58} {user1@domain.com} MAPIMailbox::HandleObjectModifiedNotification - OpenEntry (0x8004010f) failed
[40405] (10/22 07:01:34.139):{0x2C58} {user1@domain.com} MAPIMailbox::HandleObjectModifiedNotification - OpenEntry (0x8004010f) failed
[40405] (10/22 07:01:34.139):{0x2C58} {user1@domain.com} MAPIMailbox::HandleObjectModifiedNotification - OpenEntry (0x8004010f) failed
the lower lines are the matching lines to the upper.
Then this is not a fatal error, its just result that the BES is recognizing the deletion of the mail - and it should be able to handle this.

recheck if you have set Hard Deletes Reconciliation to on ?
here:
Reconcile Hard Deletes on your BlackBerry | corey gilmore's blog
is a screenshot with an example.

or here:
KB04853-How to enable hard deletes on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server

is the RIM text about it.
Also, make sure that your Message State Database is large enough.

And, quote, from the RIM blurb:
Quote:
"The Message State database may be reset so that email messages redirected to a BlackBerry smartphone during a previous BlackBerry Enterprise Server session will not be deleted even if they are hard deleted in the BlackBerry smartphone user's mailbox. Any of the following actions will reset the Message State database:

Either the BlackBerry Enterprise Server or BlackBerry Professional Software is restarted
The BlackBerry smartphone user is moved to another BlackBerry Enterprise Server or BlackBerry Professional Software
The BlackBerry smartphone user's mailbox is moved to another Microsoft Exchange Server
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server administrator sends a Reload User command from BlackBerry Manager"
It does not happen by chance, that one of these conditions apply ?
(example: automatic restart of services related to the BES/Exchange system during the night/morning, related to backup or cleanup operations ?)

nobody!!! thank you for the info...
The hard deletes are enable, and the message state database is set to 1000.....

And about the service restart, I donīt know if it applies... I have everynigh a programed backup at about 11:00PM, but the CEO read his emails on the morning at last time the test I made were made at 7:00PM and still got ghost messages.....

About the errors about invitations..... I noticed about 10 minutes ago.... I am having this weird problem... all his recurrent events like birthdays... normally they were saved as an all day event (from 12:00AM to 11:59PM), but now they were changed to 12:00PM to 12:00PM, now they take up two days...... and still... they are being duplicated!!!!! for sure this has something to do with the BB!!!!......

Does this has something to do with the CDO.dll and MAPI32.dll??? do you know about this issues??

Let me search for solutions and keep you post!!

nodoby,
Do you recommend to use the "How to enable BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 SP1 and SP2 to use Microsoft Exchange Web Services" ?

I read the documentation, but, it sounded rather complicated compared to that my system(s) currently work perfect using MAPI.
So I dont have an opinion here.

hehehe why does everything has to happend to me??? the events are being duplicated..... really weird.....
If I have a reccurrence event for my birthday for example (Cumpleaņos Eugenio Mtz), after a while I will have two reccurrence events but now one is on english (Eugenio Mtz Birthday)..... hehehehe I donīt know if this has something to do with MailMac or iPad, but still I have all software on spanish, only the BES 5 is on english. hehehehehe

Its unlikely you have the wrong versions for Mapi and CDO, because, there is only one version availible.
But, If you dont have done it already, apply Exchange SP2, or read the release notes about it- there a some things fixed related to the blackberry server.

Also, there is a DST fix but, I think this does apply to your problem:
BlackBerry

Check out the TraitTool, which cares about correct calendar syncronisation of the Device:
KB18548-How to use the BlackBerry Calendar Synchronization Tool (Traittool.exe)

http://docs.blackberry.com/en/admin/...ation_Tool.pdf

And, recheck the time zone of the Device and the correct time.

Also, for the other mail clients, like the Mac and the ipad have a look if date and time and timezone is correct.
As long as outlook has still the correct data, nothing is lost completely

nobody... how are you???
Still getting my head beat up by the BlackBerry Enterprise server....

I managed to change to Exchange Web services, until now, itīs "working".... the problem is still with the ORPHANS!!!! I hate them so much!!!! I tryed everything!!!! I just re-installed the BES and still have the same outcome...

Do you know a way to see the REFID on Outlook??... I want to check if the iPad or Mail Mac are creating a new RefID and deleting the old one..... long time ago I had this problem, I had an antivirus scanner that included the "Scanned by Nod32......", so that what happened, A new message was created and the old one was delete and the BES didnīt noticed that...

Actually the solution is in the forum here:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/bes-...ml#post1555783

First, get mfcmapi from codeplex.
login to your mailbox.
open the mailbox, inbox.
Now, tick a message. Below are the properties.
There is a property: 0x84DF0003, (a long pointer)
Take the value, substract: 4294967296 (hex 0x100000000 ).
Then you should have the RefID of the message.
