Is everyone still sleeping from the WES conference? I can't get a hold of anyone at Boxtone or NeedTEST? Must have been a good one! lol...

It was awesome! Although the music was a little loud at the party on Tuesday night

Lots of great vendors (I lost count of the number of pens I now have), excellent sessions, and great labs on BES 4.1. I heard that RIM has already reserved the same place for next year, too.

How was the training? I've been thinking of attending the Advanced BES Admin class, and I hear there will be an MDS Studio class announced around July (that's what the RIM guy running the lab at WES told me, anyway).

...might want to wait until they update it to 4.1, though.

any word on BES 5.0 at WES? there were rumors that it would be popping up there, but i've heard nothing since.

This was my first WES and I came away slightly disappointed. The opening Keynote was too much filler IMO. We work in this industry so we know wireless usage is growing... we didn't need Forrester research to tell us that. In addition I was really disappointed with Mike Lazaridis portion. I had been very hopefully that he might speak directly to RIM's future in regards to product announcements, etc. (I wasn't the only one as others I spoke to expressed the same homes), however in the end he really didn't say much of anything.

The sessions themselves were up and down too... some were great with information others light and fluffly, some almost sales pitches... The Solutions Showcase was great but having it close at 2 each day was a downer.

Even with those disappointments I got some great information out of many of the sessions(including the future roadmap session man do they have some nice plans for additional features in the BES), and made some good contacts at various vendors including Idokorro (I'm very impressed with Mobile Admin), I'll definitely be back for WES 2007.

^^ hahaha...you n00b. that's why you pick and choose the keynotes that you WANT to hear. ;) if the speaker doesn't seem interesting then don't go.

anyone know why they took down the presentations so quickly?? i tried to get on friday to the site and they were gone already. i've called RIM to see if they could put them back up. kinda silly if you ask me.

You must first register, then RIM mailed a password.

They had them up during the show for attendees. Many presentations changed at the last minute. Attendees will get an email soon, I'm sure, on whre they can get the slides. That is how they have done it before.
WES was pretty good this year. The Keynotes aren't meant to be BB related unfortunately, or they are an avenue for a large sponsor to sell their products.
