OK, so it seems like a lot of people got their firewall enabled on their device when they upgraded to OS4.XX. Has anyone found a way to disable it? Or an OS version that doesn't enable it?

And no, going to firewall > options does NOT give you the option to disable it.

Many applications simply don't work as they can't get past the device firewall, this is very annoying, especially since I even have the IPPP servicebookson my device :(

When an application makes an outbound request you don't get a notification about it?

That sounds like something even weirder at play then. I can disable the Firewall on my 7290 and 7100t IIRC, I usually like to know when things are phoning-home, however.

Is this perhaps an issue with your IT policy?

There shouldn't be an IT policy, it has never been on a BES and is on BWC at the moment. Sometimes I get the request if I want to "allow" the connection, but most of the time I just get the message that the outbound connection has been blocked...

With OS 3.7.1 I could not disable it but since upgrading to 4.0 i can now enable or disable it as I like.
