If you've upgraded to the 5.0 OS then that is something that was changed in one of the releases. I believe you can now lock/unlock the keyboard by pressing the MUTE button atop the unit.

on 411 and the latest 681 OSs you can set the lock function to your left button .. All other 5 OSs do not allow that

Are you referring to Lock as in password protect or lock as in disable and key function?

If you want to password protect, you can just press the "k" key on the home screen.

If you want to disable keyboard press and hold "a" on the home screen.

Thank you. I've had the same issue since upgrading to OS5. Now I can finally lock the keyboard and stop purse dialing.
