This doesn't work at all for me. The phone boots and it's just a white screen without any ability to select anything! Maybe 6 more battery pulls will fix it. ;)

USE the media Sync with DTM 6.0 for your videos as it will convert it to the compatible version for the BB

Really impressed by the OS. The browser is leaps and bounds ahead of the old 5.0 browser. The only problem is sometimes it takes a few seconds and/or multiple attempts at pressing the lock button to get the phone to unlock. The screen remains black for a short time...

Thank U so much!
All videos are ok on OS5 and the first day of OS6.

Let me explain more:
The video files that have no sound actually had sounds at the first day I upgraded to OS6. Then I uninstalled YouTube and all videos had sound. Then I reinstalled Youtube, video files still had sound. But after I install Document to Go, the sound was disappeared.

2 days in to using OS6 on my 9700 and have had no issues mentioned in this thread. I have 8 apps installed and all work fine without re-installing. Video and camera functions all work and like having the flash and white balance options now right on screen, even the zoom works better now that in OS5.

OS6 is amazing on the 9700.
Browser and all apps are smoother and better.
It's still a blackberry and very similar, but cleans it up.
Don't expect to name your first born Blackberry. It's just added finesse doing the same thing.

Memory is VERY tight on the 9700 (which is sad since mine is only from the summer) and I'm finding just the applications alone and some basic add-ons (maybe 10MB of apps) bring the available system memory down to ~7MB. Eeep. Might be some leaks in there, but more specifically, it's just a boat compared to OS5.
Hopefully future versions compress it down a bit and get rid of debugging code?

You need to get rid of a ton of apps/e-mail/docs...or all three. I have a few apps and maybe 2000 emails, and still have 80 MB free on my 9700. What the hell are you running that is taking up 73MB more than most of us?

Exclamation tmo 9700

I have a unlocked tmobile 9700 running on ATT and when I loaded OS6 the screen was all black and white (meaning the theme was corrupted) so I went and saw that someone else had that issuse and to fix it, I have to delete two .cod files in the app loader it was something like net_rim_theme_tmobile..etc and then I did a hard reset and didnt restore anything I did a stock OS6 load up and it works great now, just as smooth as the torch!!

You will get the occasional lag or freeze, but it's pretty short. Reminiscent of OS5.0 on my old 8330 curve. The 9700 needs the faster processor and increased RAM to really take advantage of the new OS, but I'm fine with things the way they are on mine, for now anyway.

I've also noticed this problem with Viigo. Sometimes I have to wait about 30 sec and the text loads, but sometimes it doesn't come up at all.

I also get the "website too large for phone" message and the browser closes and reopens on its own. Sometimes, though, it just shuts down and reopens without the message popping up.

After initial installation I had a little over 80MB free. I'm trying to add apps judiciously and am now down to about 60MB with my basic favorites and just a few frivolous apps.

Blackberry Maps is a big step back in the past. Usability is limited, and the features are reduced:
- the pointer which displays your location is in a dimmed green color. It is nearly impossible to locate it unless you search for it - makes it impossible to use while driving a car or a bike. The developer who did this should have once himself tried to use the application before releasing it.
- There are no folders where you can organize your favourite locations. Only one favourites folder, which fills up quickly, no differentiation between favourites an recent locations
- you cannot search the favourites
- No layers (which is the same as the favourites)
- no local search within the map
- no cell tower location option - if indoor, or, no GPS receiption you are doomed

I wonder, what additional features BBmaps might have, because, this looks like RIM has done a major rewrite of the application and, until now it was not possible to implement the previous functionality. These are all features which made sense and, there is no reason to remove them unless they made an agreement with whatever company which wants their mapping application more prominent on the blackberry platform.

I didn't even install Blackberry Maps because Google Maps works so much faster and better.

I didn't think BB Maps worked better on the 9700, at least with version 5.0. Perhaps the AT&T network had something to do with it? Perhaps I'll re-install BB Maps and compare to Google Maps and let you guys know.
