Vodafone and Dimension 'Today' Themes
Please Login to Remove!
For those who saw the Today screen on Vodafone's 8707v, here's the lowdown. It's actually an extra theme that will be available on the 7100 and 8700 series handhelds. Since its Vodafone-only, for now, and it is only supported as an 'enhanced' theme option, I would imagine that it will be supported on 7130g (EDGE), 8700 (EDGE), 7130u (UMTS), and 8707 (UMTS) handhelds.
The themes are named:
net_rim_theme_120_today_240x260.cod
net_rim_theme_120_today_320x240.cod
Anyhow, just sharing, for now. Hopefully soon we'll have our hands on these for everyone...

I didn't find that listed in BlackBerry.alx, so I'm assuming it is not available for our units, even if we unlock it.

but does anyone have the files yet? an how easy would it be to get this on a non vodafone Bb? or is someone going to have to make more mods to the blackberry.alx and anythin else 1st.

its listed in a newer BlackBerry.alx that you don't have yet... 
but once the Vodafone's new 8707v hits the market, we should have access to the themes. possibly a newer version of OS for the normal 8700 or something else might have it.
anyhow, there's also a Dimension Today theme:

Does the file have to be listed in the BlackBerry.alx to be used, or could it not be installed through an individual alx or javaloader. So everyone doesnt have to update the OS unless a newer version is needed.

Yes, it you will be able to load it OTA or by JL. But then again, it may be very similar to Zen and require a newer version of the OS - just really depends, and until it is available, we won't know.

I'm confused. Are you saying that there is a Today theme that we currently can access? I had not heard anything about that (until now)... |

no, we don't have access to it today - atleast not on the public market sector. when the 8707v is released, we will have access to it. when that date is, i have no clue.

So neither the dimension-today or the vodaphone-today one are avail just yet?
Does anyone know if either will work on .300 or if they are likely to need another upgrade by then.
Also if people like voda can make these themes which can be so different to the basic theme why cant we. What do they use, as plazmic wont alow such theme creation.

1. No, neither theme is available yet... although when it does, you can probably find it here first.
2. unknown, probably an upgrade will be necessary
3. probably because vodaphone sells phones and service to millions of people, you don't |
