Thumbs down Does 8330 have the same problems as the 8130?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everybody,

I just got an 8130 Pearl from Verizon a week ago, and it's been a pain to connect to my MacBook Air, as follows:
- PocketMac can't connect to the device (tried both USB and Bluetooth, installed the driver update)
- Missing Sync for BB sometimes requires a hard restart of the phone before syncing
- The MicroSD card doesn't always mount, and even if it does, the phone will restart during data transfer, and the card must be reformatted from windows.

I still have a few weeks to return this thing. I'm thinking about replacing it with an 8330 Curve.

- Does anybody know how to resolve these issues? I heard a rumor about a possible firmware update from RIM.
- Does anybody know if the 8330 Curve suffers the same problems?

Thank you so much for your advice!

Default MicroSD mounting, too?

Thanks for your reply! So, the transfers that require the Media card mounted (like itunes music sync) work fine as well? And you can mount the card and copy & paste to your heart's content?

Thanks!

I had similar issues with Missing Sync and my wife's 8130. Mark Space recommended to remove the media card, remove the battery for a full three minutes, and reboot the Mac. After I did this, everything synced without issue (except for importing camera photos sometimes, but that's a different thread

Regards,
Ira
