Default Latest OS: 9500 4.7.0.172 / 4.7.0.122 (English + East Asian)

Please Login to Remove!

Software For BlackBerry® Storm(TM) smartphone
From carrier Hutchinson
contains English and East Asian languages
This will load to any carrier's 9500.
Not for the 9530 model.

Software For BlackBerry® Storm(TM) smartphone BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.7.0.172 (EastAsia)

Package Version: 4.7.0.172
Consisting of:
  • Applications: 4.7.0.122
  • Software Platform: 4.0.0.153
  • File name: 9500_omadrmEastAsia_PBr4.7.0_rel172_PL4.0.0.153_A4 .7.0.122.exe
  • File size: 114.89MB
Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download here:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...2BAA6EBC8B872D

Instructions for installing either version on ANY carrier's 9500:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

For the earlier releases of this OS, see:

i've only had it for a full day so i can't really comment. i had .114 hybrid v1 and i liked it at first but over time it got kind of crappy. i like that this os is new and pretty stable but not a hybrid.

I've upgraded from .113 to .122. It's now one hour and I can say that it's faster than .113. Everybody should upgrade as soon as possible.

from what i can see in this thread... .122 looks like a solid OS for the 9500....
anyone notice any glitches/problems ?

i just wish verizon or bell would go ahead and push out an official .122 or similar for the 9530....

Well, aim1126, if you have tried it on your 9530, it is possible that you didn't like it.

Default How do you extract the secondary email to a database

in all my devices (BES4.6 sp3 server) we have a secondary email set up for disaster recovery (johnsmith@att.blackberry.net) for example. I can look at each device and pull off the cell phone, the PIN, etc but i can't seem to extract the secondary email address. I manually enter it for 200 users to a public folder which can cause errors(typing) or errors when devices switch(the address follows the device). Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am using MSDE database

This will load to any carrier's 9500.
Not for the 9530 model.

make sure of your model because your info says 9530...

It shouldn't be so. I am surprised that you don't have the web-browser. Are you sure it is not hidden?
