I just got my phone. I'm on .75. Can I go straight to .141?

I followed the directions but after I clicked Next and stuff, it did somethign for 10 seconds then said nothing to change and it was done in a matter of seconds. There was no 45min process.

???

Have you deleted the vendor.xml file?

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.

DONE

2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

DONE

3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

DONE

But nothing really happens after that.

The software package is for a GSM based 9500, you are running a CDMA 9530.

I sucessfully downloaded it, but when i go to install i get to the end and an error message pops up saying "the cabinet file data1.cab is required for this instillation is corrupt and cannot be used. this could indicate a network error, an error reading from the cd-rom, or a problem with this package.

HELP ME PLEASE, v .75 just isnt cutting it for me anymore

Default No luck on the install

I installed DM 4.7, then installed the 4.7.0.141 firmware from the link in the first post. Deleted the vendor file and ran loader. It doesn't see any new firmware, just my apps.

I tried it from within DM too and no luck.

If I look in \program files\common files\research in motion\shared\loader files there is a folder 9500-v4.7.0.100_P4.0.0.124.

I have rebooted both the computer and did a battery pull on my storm.

I am doing this using a VMware session, but I wouldn't think that would make a difference. My storm shows up as a USB device on the PC and also in DM.

Any ideas?

Currently running 75 on the storm.

Thanks

Ive had some problems with this update..

Problem one: When i try to open a mail from a today-theme, and when i try to reply to it by switching to landscape mode, the phones automatically goes back to the mainmenu. Theni have to go trough SMS -> Find the SMS -> Reply -> Swithc to landscape..

Second problem: WHen i use the mediaplayer, the blue statusline doesnt show up.. Everything works fine, but when i try to forward or something, i dont see the line.. Sometimes i can see it in the portraitmode, and sometimes not.. Its the same with landscape.. Sometime i see it, sometime i dont..

Other then that this stuff works pretty good!

Default Firmware conents

Thank you for the post but I need to understand the following. Updates should be upgrades on existing firmware but without being provided with software content and area of improvement it has to be a gamble to modify a phone.
Is it not possible to give a summary of contents and changes as a guide to the potential user?

Smile Media Player Bug Fixed!

This release finally fixes a bug that has prevented me from using the media player as my MP3 player since it first came out on the 88xx series. You can now fast forward through media that is longer than approx 27 minutes without the track restarting from the beginning! Further to that is the problem that when you receive an alert such as an email, phone call, etc. the track doesn't restart on you if it is beyond the 27 minute mark...finally!
