He is talking about the 9500 (GSM only Storm) not the 9530 CDMA/GSM Storm

i unlocked my 9530 from verizon directly really easy to do took them 10 min and now i can use any SIM its great :-D

i have bought an unlocked,new out of the box 9500 storm (Vodafone branded) in Germany.It is working perfecly on Belgium network Base.No need to unlock it.

German ones are unlocked, thats the law in Germany. But Voda UK for example are locked

2. Turn off all of the wireless connections
3. Go to Options
4. Select Advanced Options
5. Select SIM Card
6. Hit menu select show keybord
7. Enter mepd (you will not be able to see the typed info)
8. Enter mep2
9. Now it will say enter network mep code

The website makes it seem like it can unlock 9530, but can you really. When you ask what provider the phone was locked by you do not give the option to select Telus in Canada.

What does unlocking do? I have my 9530 working through VZW, does unlocking help the device do more? Sorry about the dumb question, but I am new at the BB stuff.
