Now, Documents To Go Premium Edition that includes additional features such as creating new files, spell checking, advanced formatting and more, is also available. Now you can view, edit and create native Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files and attachments right on your BlackBerry smartphone!

Why choose Documents To Go?

#1 – Included. Documents To Go Standard Edition is now included with BlackBerry Device Software v4.5 and above as well as with future BlackBerry smartphones, such as the BlackBerry Bold.

#2 – Full featured. A complete mobile Office suite with a full range of viewing AND editing features designed to complement your desktop Office experience.

#3 – Native/client-side. Open Word, Excel and PowerPoint files on your BlackBerry smarphone without any desktop or server conversion. Whether you receive files via email, Bluetooth or a media card, native document support means you’ll always be able to open files when you’re away from the office.

#4 – InTact Technology. DataViz’ acclaimed technology is the first and only way to ensure all original file formatting is retained once a file has been edited on a smartphone and forwarded on.

#5 – Fully integrated with BlackBerry Enterprise Server v4.1.5 for quick and easy native attachment downloading and uploading as well as support for existing IT policies, including new policies specific to Documents To Go functionality.

Default Docs To Go update

There is an update for Docs To Go available now available.

This includes support for Excel docs and the upgrade to Premium is also available.

Launch a Docs To Go app, ie. Word To Go, and select the "check for updates" menu option.

$69.95???? At least it's cheaper than the alternative. The bundled version will suffice for copies of your documents for reference but if you need editing of your documents (a good trick on your BB screen), then you'll "need" this edition.

I don't believe it will work at all on anything less than 4.5. 4.2 BB OS does not support it at all.

That's what I thought, and is why I was surprised when I saw you downloading/installing it on your Verizon Curve. Or am I all wet and the CDMA Curve has a 4.5 OS available for it??

So upon updating Docs To Go, I sent myself an excel spreadsheet to check it out. I am not able to save this attachment from the email, only "open." Needless to say this doesn't open it with Docs To Go, so I have no editing abilities.

Anyone else?

@NickfromIL: I believe BIS 2.5 is being rolled out this coming weekend in NA. Afterwhich, you should have the capability to download attachments.

Right, wasn't sure if that was a BIS feature or part of the OS thanks.
