hello everybody
i just bought bb curve 8520
the 1st issue i had was with the caller id
when i recieve a call from a contact only there number shows and not there name
i had to remove the country code(+996)

the next problem was with sms the sender name not showing because the international prefix is added??

i also cant use the mms service the compose mms option does not show.. and i can't receive any..
do i have to have a data plan to use mms???

please help

So which issues have been resolved and which do you need help with?

For MMS, some carriers require a BB data plan for mms, others do not. You also need the appropriate service books. You will need to call your carrier and see if they support it.

I do have the same problem where numbers with +966 are not showing the names of the caller and if I remove the +966 then messages are affected so to sum up
-if phone book has the +966 then the caller name does not come up but in sms it does
-if phone book does not have the +966 then the caller name does come up but in sms it does not.

I tried all combinations in the smart dialing options also the security

i resolved the caller id issue by removing the country code from every contact number in my address book...

the problems i'm having now is with sms sender name and unlike amsamine even if i add the country code the name does not show up..
i was told i should downgrade to an earlier software (am using 4.6.1.286)

as for the mms i am starting to believe that it has to do with the carrier (although when i called customer service they told me i don't need to have a data plan????
