Default Can't end calls/won't hang up

Please Login to Remove!

I've got the BB Torch 9850 and in the last two weeks, it will not let me end calls when I am finished talking. I hit the end call/hang up button but it stays connected until either the other person hangs up or I pull the battery. This morning while searching my address book for a contact, I accidentally called someone and could not hang up. I ended up pulling the battery to stop the call.

Has anyone had this happen and if so how did you fix it?

My last resort is a security wipe/setting it back to factory defaults. I really haven't added may apps. The only apps that I use regularly are facebook and kindle for BB so I deleted all of the other 3rd party apps in hopes of freeing up memory but that didn't help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Other than this recent issue, I love the phone.

I should add. that I updated my phone to the new version last night hoping that might solve the issue but it did not.

When you are not using the phone but are in an app, does the end call button return you to the home screen?

What method are you using to end the call? The outside button or inside the "Phone" add, have you tried click the blackberry button to bring up the option menu and use "End Call" there. At least it's a workaround until you discover the reason.

As aiharkness mentioned, when you press the "End Call" button on the device outside button, does it return you to the home screen. If not, it may indicate a problem with the button itself.

Nope! End call does NOTHING. It's a worthless button. I took it in and they ordered a new one. Apparently it was a mechanical issue.

I haven't tried that Medic48. Thanks for the tip. It looks like it will be two or three days before I get my replacement so I'll do that while I wait.
