Default Best Free RSS Reader?

Please Login to Remove!

I was wondering what you all consider to be the best Free RSS reader. I've seen a bunch of links posted, but instead of testing them all myself, I thought I'd just ask your input.

Thanks!

I use the Bloglines reader for BB.

http://www.thebogles.com/blog/projects/berry-bloglines/

Look at the list of features (including embedded access to full articles via the Google Mobile Proxy - very cool)

I heard Newsgator was coming out with one for the Blackberry... It's in BETA, but I can't seem to find the app. All their other products work flawlessly for PC and MAC...

Quick question about NewsClip, does it use SMS at all? Reason I ask is because it warned me that it could charge or something when I first launched it.

Try google's. Pretty decent. I have customized my google homepage and set it as my homepage on my BB. Works really well.

The version that will work on the BlackBerry should be going into beta within a month or so, you can watch for an announcement at blogs dot newsgator dot com slash daily.

I only want to watch 2 RSS feeds: both from my Netflix account. Google doesn't seem to be able to read these feeds unfortunately... That was a perfect solution for my needs.

The only reason I don't want to pay for one is that I will only be watching 2 RSS feeds (see above) and they're not important enough, just a convenience thing.

Is there an option to always show the full feeds instead of just the updated parts?

I will mainly be looking at my Netflix queue and if it's not been updated (which it usually isn't) I can't see any of the queue because it's not 'updated.' I signed up and looked through all their options, but cannot get it to work!

I am getting "read timeout error" on my BB for bloglines? Anyone else encountered the same error?

Default piconews

try piconews has a nice interface with scrolling headlines, they update it and support it well. and its free like you want by far the best looking of all the free ones. and it gets the headline and story for you with out having to go into your browser to retrieve the story. probably higher data usage but great with unlimited data.

How did you get Piconews to get the full story without going to the browser? I did not think that possible?

Default Have you tried HeadlineHawk?

I've only had my BlackBerry for a few weeks, but a buddy of mine turned me on to HeadlineHawk for RSS news headlines.

Its probably not sophisticated enough for people that watch a lot of feeds but if you only want the top headlines each day at a specific time, it does a great job.

See headlinehawk.com.

I use bloglines however I would suggest a couple of changes that would make it perfect for me. One of my problems is I don't read them except for rare down time like in an airport etc...

1. I would like a "Mark all Read" button on the screen that list your news feeds. This way you can mark all your feeds read at one time.

2. When you click on a news feed, I would like it to always display the latest news article. Mines maxes out at 200 unread per feed so when I do try to read articles they are usually a week or two old. I like the max at 200 but I would like it to push out the old articles and have 200 current ones beginning with up to the hour.

Other than this it is the perfect app for me...

Post PicoNews needs a browser for full story

PicoNews gives you the headline and a short summary. If you want the full story you have to link click to get the browser. FreeNews gives you text only stories, but it's too temperamental and stops at the first page of text. If you want following pages you're out of luck. FreeRangeInc.com says that a new version is coming that will allow threading to following pages.
