I'm updating my OS right now and im pretty sure I read a disclaimer that says that my apps will be deleted, is that true? That would really suck!!

Have you backed up your device before upgrading? The Upgrade process will do a backup as well, but it never hurts to do this.

If you selected the box to do a backup and restore as part of the upgrade, then your 3rd party apps will carry over.

If you want to be extra safe you could follow these steps.

Yes I did a backup. Can I restore my apps from the backup? If so, how can I restore the apps without restoring the old software?

The backup will not touch 3rd party apps. To backup/restore 3rd party app, follow the steps in the link above.

Will a OS upgrade touch 3rd party apps?

Yes, as I stated in post #3, there is an option for creating a backup when upgrading your OS. I believe this is selected by default.
