I tried 5 times and no luck. All the CSRs I talked to we really nice but said they couldn't even buy the phone and they work there. I'm not sure what you guys are saying different to convince em but kudos. Ugh.

yeah same here, they let me qualify for the full discount price but have to wait until release.

First call on Friday. Offered the discount. Arriving tomorrow. I did have to speak to retention, but it was no problem at all.

Called on my first try, and they shipped one out to me. Only problem was told that my upgrade price was $ 299.99, then got a message from 453 telling me I was charged $ 429.99 for the device. Thought that was weird, so looks like I will be playing with it for two weeks and sending it back.

just called in and 1st try got the full upgrade which I was due for and said 7-10 days standard shipping. Can't wait. Now i just need siedio to come out with the rubberized case and I'm set.

called today at 1440 and lucked into "Grace". she was a superstar. told her i had a question about a new phone coming out and a service plan question, and as soon as i said "blackberry" she asked "the 8900 Curve?" and that's all it took.

she checked my upgrade eligibility*, checked to see if she could put the order in, answered my other question and at the end of the 19 minute and 5 second call i had a confirmation number. i decided $20 for express shipping was worth it, but that was a damn tough call to make! ups of course doesn't show the track yet, but i should have it in a few days.

really didn't expect to get that far, or pull the trigger even, but "Grace" seemed as excited as me, if not more.

I checked again today to check to see if mine shipped (I ordered Friday and was told it would get here Wednesday with expedited shipping). Today's CSR said that while it was ordered for me, since it doesn't release until the 11th, they can't guarantee expedited shipping. I asked whether that meant that I'm waiting until the 11th for mine, and she said that while they are allowing it to be ordered, the warehouse isn't shipping them until then. It wasn't 100% clear whether mine definitely WON'T ship before then, but she said to keep checking the UPS site, and compared it to preordering a G1.

Anyone else hear differently?

From reading the business thread and this it sounds to me like Tmob may be shutting this deal down perhaps due to callers like us. If they let too many cats out of the bag maybe they're afraid the official release date will become meaningless. Maybe now they won't guarantee shipment until the 11th. I was gonna try and bug them today but my gut feeling is that I can get it for $100 after the 11th if I get after the retention dept. I think I'll wait. A dude on the other thread said it's now on his profile that he's called CS and asked for the phone so they tell him to pound sand when he calls again. If it were my company I'd use the "smoke 'em if you got 'em-the lights are on me" principle and sell to anybody with the dough.

Got mine today, UPS dropped it off this afternoon. Got it updated to the latest .133 beta software that's out there and moved off my 8320.

First impressions, love it. MUCH faster then the 8320 in pretty much every operation and as everyone else has pointed out, the screen is amazing.

Lots of applications seem to take advantage of the increase in resolution, even Opera mini is a lot more viable as a browser because of this.

So yeah, I'm off to go finish getting it setup and try some other things, I've noticed RIM changed the manner in which themes are loaded... (Can't just remove the vendorID from the ALX anymore) But this is more to do with the software then the device.
