Default 4.7 Core Applications always want updating

Please Login to Remove!

I know this has been discussed before but I haven't been able to find it with a search. Sorry. After installing and updating to a new version of software every time I connect to DM it says that v4.7 Core apllications need to be updated again. I know this isn't right but I don't know how to fix it short of uninstalling the software itself. Any help is appreciated.

It's to do with the .109 firmware. Either downgrade or just wait out for the next release

You can uninstall the OS from your computer and it will stop it. Once the OS is on the phone there is no need for it on the computer unless you are changing features of the OS on the phone. You will still be able to install 3rd party software and themes.

First I do not have .109 on my Storm nor do I have the OS on my computer. I think it has something to do with the DM

Follow my advice above, it is not a .109 specific problem. You must have some version of an OS installed on your computer for Desktop Manager to try and update the core apps, if you uninstall the OS from your computer then DM will stop trying to update your core apps every time you plug in your phone.

Default An alternate solution

Here's another solution/workaround from another BB forum...

The typical path on Windows to the "Shared" folder is:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared

When you need to install an OS, just rename the folder back to its original name. I just stuck a bunch of ZZ's at the end of the name so it's obvious.

Thanks for the replies. I figured that uninstalling the OS would fix it but I didn't really want to do that. This has been going on for months with the storm. I first tried it when it first came out in November so I know it's not related to .109. I thought it was DM 4.7 so I went back to 4.6 and the problem is still there so I don't think that is it either, It's odd that at least for me it is only the storm that has this issue. I don't have it with the curve.
