Had to upgrade my computer so installed BB Desktop and attempted to upload contacts, calendar, and notes to MS Outlook. I tired several times but each time BB Desktop stops at a particular point during upload of contacts. Here are the details:

I tried uploading just the contacts as well as uploading to Microsoft Contacts instead. Same results.

Any idea what's going on here? Anything else I can try to get my contacts uploaded to this new computer? (Windows 7 Pro, latest updates installed)

You did notmention if or how you optionbed the DM after install. If DM does not have the current Outlook selected in it's setup it wont see the PC installed Outlook.

Indeed I have Outlook installed and was able to upload calendar and notes with no problem. I've saved the log but hesitate to post here as detailed contact info is revealed. The process always stops at the same point. Note also that the same problem occurs when attempting to save as Windows Contacts (i.e. nothing to do with Outlook).

If the process always stops at the same point then you may have a corrupted contact. If you can look at the contacts and check each for any out of place or info that may cause this it will help.

Thanks but neither links are of any help. None of the messages reported resemble the message I receive. In my case, when the error occurs, the progress window dims when displaying "Getting status information from Blackberry Address Book Read 663 records". Upon dimming, an OS window pops up reporting that "Blackberry Desktop Software has stopped working". The details are as follows:

Well it might help to post your EXACT symptoms so as to gather clues as to what might be happening. Trust me, if I had a solution, I'd post it here!

when i sync the address book from my pc (winXP SP3) to my BBM ..freezes while uploading the data and the DM stops working..when i disconect the BBM from the pc and restart the BBM shows the follwing :

net_rim_bb_phone_
app(114)is not responding
