I must be thicker than the average person here because I tried folloling your instruction but had a problem.
I have a Verizon Storm 2 and the PC and the Storm 2 have the same software level. I then deleted the Verizon.xml file and modified blackberry.alx as you stated. I did not modify the lbs .alx since I have Verizon and have the maps. From here I did not see how I would automatically have all the themes but I guessed that I would use the desktop software and do an "update software" in the desktop manager. After I did that I stillonly have 1 theme"prececision Zen". Can you please tell me where I went wrong.
The instructions in this thread are mostly for the older devices that have half the memory (or less) that the new devices do, so it's not really necessary.
If you're just trying to get themes to add to the newer devices you'll have to go in and look at the list of theme files in the java folder and see what you need to edit in the blackbkerry.alx.
To be honest, I quit doing all this on my newer devices since memory is not an issue and I only use one theme anymore.
Thanks for the response. I restored my files to the way they were originally. I checked the java folder and I only have 3 files with "theme" in the name
net_rim_plazmic_themereader.cod, net_rim_theme_precision_zen_360x480_t_04.cod and net_rim_theme_tim_zen_360x480_t.cod
My strom2 only has 1 theme showing under options themes. How do I load the other theme and is there a way of getting more themes.
Separate question is does the theme only really change the wallpaper or does it affect other things like icon amd banners?
Thank you so very much, John! As I am still using a Curve 8310 your tutorial really did the trick in order to enable me to enjoy the App fun. Great job, many thanks and all the best! (
Even with 9700 a cleaning seems in order because of the size of the new OS. I only have 256 m so it will be interesting to see if I can shoe horn this OS in;) Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile

And I think it automatically gets something in it that is eating up the memory. My total memory is 128 MB . Once I deleted all the phone data and all apps. Then I reinstalled the required apps. But the memory was just being consumed not released. Right now I just have few apps still it shows 1.1 MB space free. And whenever I download an application it take more space then what it is meant to take or written over their!! Please help please help!!! Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
