Default Enormous rumor about RIM buying AltN/MDaemon

Please Login to Remove!

Can anyone substantiate this wild rumor that's starting to circulate? The publicly posted "please keep this confidential" has me assuming this is a hoax.

My thoughts exactly...makes no sense. Could this be a marketing ploy by some web savvy AltN executive? If it is...it's quite smart and would draw traffic to their site.

Gang-with all due respect, let's keep the comments centered on the topic, and lay off the personal shots. The thread will be closed otherwise.

I came across this in a quick search:

[MDaemon-L] Alt-N Announcement as Subsidiary of RIM

Quote:
We are asking our partners to refrain from making any proactive, public
announcements (Web site, blogs, press releases, etc.) at this time. We
will be providing information at a later date that will support a more
proactive marketing communications efforts.
