If a n00b admin doesn't do a search and posts a question on this Forum, do you roll your eyes? LOL

Hmm how to fix the issue at hand. Maybe it would help if the search link stuck out a little more than the rest of them. Maybe they should make it a bright red color so it catches your eye

They might also get peeved that it takes 20 seconds to do a second search give up and post since it is faster.

I have an
Have a pop up on the first 10 posts to say:
Have you searched the forums or FAQ for you answer first?
Have them answer it before they can click on submit.
That might sink it in.

Now that's a good idea. I wonder how we can get BBF to do that. Maybe they need to do a search first....

While I don't necessarily like the idea of nagging new users... Along with 'friendly' reminders to search first, how about one regarding properly titling threads. For example:
'How do I activate the speaker phone on an 8830?'
vs.
'NEED HELP QUICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
I actually find this issue more annoying than the no search problem because half the posts we see, we have no idea what the poster is looking for, trying to tell us about, etc. I used to look at these posts to see if I could offer advice or, more likely, learn something, but more & more I just skip them altogether.

As you can tell I'm not an admin, not a mod and a newbie who's only had a BB for a month. 4 of my 5 posts were attempts to help someone else based on my own limited experience (the other was why I deserve to win a Fortte case!) I find this thread refreshing (except that I ignored it at first because of the title!). I'm always looking to learn more -- if I'm looking for something specific, I search first and usually find something, although any search engine tends to test our ability to figure out how to find what we need; I'm impatient with titles like "help" or "question"; and it seems ridiculous to read through a thread that has 20 or more messages all saying "thanks" or "me, too" and even worse to see newbies trying to pad their message count.
Everyday I check for new posts and search for anything I've been wondering about. It's a fabulous place to find answers, share experience and info, and learn something new everyday.
Thanks to the mods and the serious posters who put so much into helping others and making the BB even more fun.
Just my $0.02.

You know, I skipped a few times because of the title, as well. But, didn't realize the irony of my post
