Default charge $175 for replacment!!! what the...

i called and basically complained about my wifes storm which was not functioning properly yesterday. they were nice enough to ship a brand new one out overnight mail. i got it today but was charger $175.98 like it was a new order. what gives? should i have kept the original that i already paid for as well and sell it on ebay or should i mail it back and will i be credited for the new one? i myself had two replacements in the past two weeks but this never happened. what the...

i would call verizon and ask them exactly how the exchange is supposed to work... my guess would be they will credit your account when you send the old one back to them.

What you have done with VZW is called an advance replacement. Once you return the defective unit, they will credit your CC back. Standard operating procedure for most companies dealing with replacements in this manner.

I just did the same thing with my Storm... What they do is charge you for the new device and put that charge on your bill... As soon as the defective device is returned they credit your bill back so it all evens out....

Same thing happened with me, I just sent mine back yesterday I will be interested to see how long it will take to get the credit to my account.
