Default Update questions and results

Last weekend updated Desktop Manager to 5.0. Last night updated my OS to .297 using the wireless update on the phone. Went pretty smooth. Only had to reload one app, which was easy. Seems to work well and had over 40Mb free space afterwards. I have'nt seen this since the device was new.

Question: When first start up the DM 5.0 with the Bold connected to the usb, it scans for application updates and then says that there are many updates available. Specifically to name a few:
4.6 system software, Core apps, API library, Attachment service, Cerfificate keystore browser library, CMS Library, Crypto libraries, ECMA Script library, LDAP Browser Library... BB Messenger ..., Visual Voice Mail, help, memo pad, phone .... etc.

1) Weren't the system software, core apps and others updated when I did the .297 upgrade?
2) What are some of these other things like CMS, PGP library, etc?
3) Why would it tell me there is a VVM update, when I just upgraded to297 including the new VVM?
4) Are these things I should update to? or were these already done with the 297 upgrade? If there are ones that need updating, which are best?

Any advice is appreciated.

For some reason when you open up dm, it will ask to upgrade. Just ignore it.

This thread reminds of something I wanted to ask a long time ago: I have Desktop Manager 4.7 installed on the laptop, and I get alerts that v5.0 is available; should I update to v5.0?
Are there real advantages?
Is the update process error free?

please advise and thanks in advance!

yes you should update, if you sync.
syncing is about 4 times faster in v5.
