Lag, lag, lag
Please Login to Remove!
Well this is an odd one.... The device seams to lag quite a bit but only with certain tasks... If I remove from holster and unlock it, it lags (takes about 5 seconds to actually unlock)... Deleting text message or emails are the same... Lag, lag, lag...
Odd as everything else is pretty snappy...

Your retired. What's the rush? Do you have content protection turned on?

Lol...
No it's off.... Content Compression is on but Protection is off...
Not many 3rd party apps either and the issues are right after reboot...
GPS is off, I only have AngelsMobile, Poynt, and BeWeather loaded up....
Odd part is I don't get hour glass or thinking icon... It just sits there looking at me for several seconds..

I do see the lag but its sporadic. Yes the reboot time is so long I sometimes doubt the device will ever go back to the homescreen

I was having this exact issue. Options/Security Options/General Settings/Content Compression: Disabled, seems to have sped things up a little. Thanks so much for the thread and the answer.

I don't think it is the wait as long as the 27 voice mails and 200 emails waiting for you when it is done booting!
I will say that I don't battery pull anywhere near as often as I did on the Curve. I keep checking memory and it holds very steady.

I need to find a part time job... 4 hours a day, 3 or 4 days a week and if they even try to give me any responsibility.... I will quit!
Been in serious bum mode... Ride my bike 12 miles a day, watch TV, do laundry, clean house, watch more TV....

No real sure why this is slowing things down as the setting is turned on by default on all newer BlackBerry devices...
Turning it off does speed things up a ton but be aware it will make the device less secure if someone were to steal it...
Perhaps the next OS release will fix this and we can turn it back on after that...

I had a lag whenever I would open and send SMS messages to certain contacts, so I disabled content compression. Could someone explain exactly what that does? And should I have Protection disabled as well?

i get badddd lag when i open the browser, facebook and sometimes texts. But when i open explorer or facebook the phone locks up for at least 2 min, when i can finally back out of the menus to the home or app screen i can move the track ball but when i push it in to select something nothing happens. is this the same problem you had? if not anyone ever hear of this?
