The trackball issue is MOST DEFINITELY hardware related. I got mine replaced with a perfectly working device, and it is running the exact same OS as the faulty one I turned in (.40). Works exactly as it should not.

If you have trackball issues (particularly like mine: No right, weak Left) - get a NEW REPLACEMENT NOW.

I went into the VZW store this morning to see about a replacement for my Tour with no horizontal scrolling. According to them, Tours made 08/20 and after are ok. They apparently have green stickers on the boxes indicating that they are the newer stock. Unfortunately, none of the local stores had a replacement phone in stock. Once the rep called customer service, there were NO refurb Tours available either. So, much to my disappointment, they're shipping me a brand new phone as a replacement

The trackball only occasionally annoyed me but when it did it was enough to drive me nuts. I'm glad I finally went in and got the replacement process started.

You're lucky. There was actually a thread started on the issue (not sure if it was on this forum) where the phone will start out charging then get hot and the charge symbol will disappear and the phone will not charge. I've tried 3 different chargers and I am not the only person with this issue.

Trackball is a hardware issue and VZW is swapping out Tours right and left. Go get it fixed. Software will do nothing to fix the problem.

I have the left/right scrolling issue when I'm at my icons, in an e-mail etc., but yet it scrolls left/right perfectly when browsing website.
