Default Back to BlackBerry but which one?

Please Login to Remove!

I've been using BlackBerry handhelds for over five years, as a work phone. The latest being a Curve 8900 for the last 18 months.
Two weeks ago we were issued with HTC Desire Z phone.
It was fine to use sitting at the desk in my office but at airports and on the road, I hate it!

I have just unlocked my 8900 and put my personal SIM into it, and Vodafone UK have given me a deal on a BB internet plan.

My work SIM will go into a regular phone but I want to buy a new BB soon.

Was the Bold 9780 top of the range, prior to the release of the Torch?
I'm tending to go for the Bold - I don't get on well with touch screens!

The HTC is back in its box and will stay there until work is due a new upgrade!

The 9800 was out before the 9780. There are several new models coming out later this year. Check the Rumors section.

Thanks for putting me right on that
But am I correct in thinking that these are the two top models?

It is great to have my old 8900 back in use and I'm tending towards the 9780 as the natural sucessor...

As far as I know the 9780 is the top of the line for the traditional BlackBerry form factor.

Agree with Ira. The 9800 is a slider, first one for the BB, AFAIK and the 9780 would be the newest in the line-up, but there are several new ones coming in the next few months that are said to be a major upgrade over today's devices.

The 9300 is another newer one - adds 3G tot he Curve line-up and replaces the 8900.

My thinking if I were in your shoes would be to stick it out as long as you can with the 8900 and try to wait for the new 'Bold' style with OS 6.1.

I know the argument that there will always be something new coming, but if the 8900 is a 90% solution now, the wait will be worth it, I think.

Thanks everyone.
While I'm tempted to jump in and buy a new one, that is good advice - the 8900 is working well and has never let me down.
