Hello,

I did search but did not find what I was looking for. Sorry if the answer is here already.

I am considering buying a BOLD with a blocked PIN (quite inexpensive). I do have a Blackberry data plan with Rogers.

- BB push email will not work
- BB messaging will not work
- will the internet browser work?
- will wifi work?
- any 3G issues?
- will google maps work?
- will tethering work?
- can the OS be upgraded?

In my opionion it's not worth buy a BB with a locked PIN, was it pre-relase.

I was under the impression that all pre-released units have "Property of RIM" all over them. Wouldn't that make buying a blocked pin Bold the same as buying stolen property?

Pass it by. Not much use without a PIN.

GoogleMaps won't work as it requires a BB data plan.

I bought one without knowing the pin was blocked. The voice works. What can I do about it now? Can the pin be unblocked?

You have a pretty phone. That is about all. Can't be unblocked AFAIK.
