Hi, I may not update my 9700 here in Armenia. My BB Desktop Manager may not detect any updates for OS 5 which is actually on my 9700. Is there any alternative way to update for OS 6? I am looking for BB official updates, not for leaks. Thanks.

Mika, there is. No official update for 9700 yet. And there is no date on when it will be out. But I have leak on my 9700 and its working pretty good. Do your due deligence and if yoy ever think of trying please make a good back up (twice ) -.

Desktop Manager is only going to indicate an available upgrade when it is released by your service provider. (It knows your service provider from the blackberry.)

You can, however, load any service provider's released OS for your model. Look at any of the stickied latest OS threads at the top of the subforum for your series blackberry to get the idea.

When an official version is eventually released you will see it posted in a latest OS thread.

You said in OP you were waiting for an official release. There is not one, yet.

EDIT: Just to be clear, if you are waiting for an official OS 6 release for the 9700, you want to watch for a thread like http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ml#post1679028 but one announcing 0S 6.
