Default I think it's stupid ... (OS 6-related)

Please Login to Remove!

... how there have been so many leaks lately for BlackBerry phones (including ones that haven't even been released yet), but no OS 6 leak or release for the Bold 9700, which has already been out for more than a year. It's astounding how a high-profile website like Boy Genius Report can show OS 6 running just fine on the Bold 9700, yet there's been no leak or release by now. Does anyone here have any clue as to when AT&T will release OS 6 for the Bold 9700? Thanks!

You won't get any argument from me on that point (no one knowing), but it's patently ridiculous how so many leaks (both OS 5 and 6) have been happening for BlackBerrys everywhere, especially these that haven't - and I repeat, haven't - been released to market yet; all the while us Bold 9700 owners have been patiently waiting for OS 6. I'm sure I'm not the first one who's felt this way. Come on, AT&T ... Give already, would you?

Obviously they are holding out on you.
Why not contact them directly instead of sounding off in a privately owned forum, run by volunteers not associated with RIM or any carrier.

In fact, start a protest. That ought to work!

It is stupid.
So are the number of leaked releases.
Don't I have something better to do than constantly look for leaked releases that solve some stupid problems. Most often some problems solved and more introduced.

AT&T???
Well I would look at RIM - are they using 1970's tools to develop and test this stuff? Would seem so.

You probably should be happy that a leaked release is not available for 9700 as you can avoid a long pain cycle of more leaked releases.

@stststs000 - why are you here?
All of your posts extol the virtues of every other platform.

Are you trolling?

Oh yeah, since Android is so great, where is v2.2 for the Droid X?

Don't put all the blame on RIM. the carriers all have a hand in it as well as they add their tweaks and have to test it to make sure that it doesn't crash their networks or break their towers.

Guess you never had a chance to take a tour of the place, their testing area is huge.

Do not see in this post where I mentioned Android.
Why am I here? Good question. BB developer (as well as iPhone/Android and working on WP7). Unfortunately I do need to troll looking for leaked releases (leaked from RIM as they would rather test on users than do the testing themselves). Any idea what havoc this creates fro developers? Zillions of releases leaked by RIM is not helpful in terms of building Apps that install and work regardless. Already have a zillions different BB platforms to support and varied screens, etc., all these leaked releases with undocumented changes is a nightmare for everyone.

Happy with Apple holding the line on leaks and fine if Android 2.2 is not ready then it is not released - that is good. Why pollute the users and developers with crap??? Who is that serving?

I think if users like to tinker around - become a developer - you can have all the joy you want.
