Please do not write in text speak. It is very difficult to even understand your problem. You need to use real words, punctuation and capitalization to make your post readable.

But maybe this will help - 1st step to take if device is having problems? - BlackBerryFAQ

Those are probably just icons that were put there by your carrier and not installed apps, since you don't see them. Hide the icons if you don't want to see them. If you delete, they will probably just get pushed back anyway.

OS 6 takes a lot of space on a 9700 and doesn't leave much for apps. Make sure that you have all photos, music and ringtones offloaded to the SD card.

And maybe this from our FAQ will help: How do I free up memory on my device? - BlackBerryFAQ

The user guide should explain it. I don't have a 9700, so I can't say for certain. This from the FAQ might also help: http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.p...icroSD_card%3F

The only things you can put there are photos, ringtones and music.

After loading OS5 you only have 52,635,360 free? You must have a lot of media installted onto the device itself. I have over 110mb free with OS5 and plenty of room for OS6.

Please double check what it actually installed on the BB.

Amazing. I have OS6 installed on a 9700, with about a dozen apps. No pictures or ringtones on the device memory. A ton of e-mails. 65mb free.

I had 122mb free with OS 5. Something is using the space. Until you find it, you won't be able to upgrade.

I had a similar issue when I upgraded to OS 6 on my 9700. Great enhancement to the look and feel and usability of the phone. But I have quite a lot of apps from Poynt, Viigo, tons of financial apps, etc.

Looking under application managment, I see tha the OS takes about 136MB on my phone. However, I only have 26MB of free memory (application storage memory) left on a fresh reboot. I have a lot of apps but not 100MB worth of them. Even at 1MB each, I have no more than 50 apps and this is including the BlackBerry ones (Yahoo Messenger, BB App World, etc.). Does this sound about right?

I guess I'm not counting random system files used for caches or db for apps and anything along those lines.

The biggest problem I have with this lack of space is that I can't freely subscribe to a lot of feeds as it keeps hitting the memory space error. Arrrgggh...

I have the same problem.
I have with me OS 6.0.0.461
I have about 5 or 6 apps installed, none of which exceed 2mb.
I have cleaned up my device memory from unused items like sample music, etc., but I only have about 30mb left in my memory.

Has anyone figured out why?

This is also something that I have a problem with. 53.9mb of free space with OS6 but only six apps installed with a total of 6.3 mb. I also have 40 apps that have been uninstalled. I am trying to find the other 197 mb of space but don;t know how to do it. The other issue is that I was trying to connect blackberry to my PC for the first time with OS5 and things went horribly wrong and I had to continually reboot. Working perfectly now but with very little space in storage. Can someone help me?
