Since a couple of days I have a screen-scrambling problem; battery in-outs- wont help. - Have deleted all unnecessary programs (feng-shui, horoscope, first-aid, weather) thinking they might have carried a virus. Seems not to be the case.
Before, when I opened the slider, the screen was on and all was fine, navigating and screen appearance worked without any problems.
Now: have to open on the left-top pushing the "lock" for a second, it then illuminates the screen and in 70% of the occurrences the screen partly or totally blurrs or scrambles once I start the navigation button. No easy going back or "full menu" view.

NB I believe the a.m. programs were not the cause of this, I just deleted them to be sure.
Can anyone help???? Its difficult to find a customer service where I live

Unless you dropped or got it wet a reload of the OS may help. Do not install any third party apps. If all is ok then add an app one at a time.

Reload the OS level you have on the phone now. Also do not do it over the air . Download to a PC and using desktop manager or JL_cmdr do the upgrade

Thank You for replying. Don't think I'm a a total technical nerd - but what is "os" and how to do it?? I didn't do anything stupid with the phone, no coffee, no dropping on the street, so your suggestion sounds really very useful. pls try to explain.

Ok, take a look at the FAQ section located at the top of the Forum page. Also check the section specific to your BB. Upgrading the OS is not a big deal if you follow all the instructions.
downloading the applications used is also not a problem. Here is the link to the 9800 section.
