Default TMo Curve Case Color!

Please Login to Remove!

I've seen quite a few conflicting rumors about the color of the Blackberry Curve to be released by T-Mobile on September 24th. The Boy Genius Report has claimed that the casing of the TMo Curve will be gold and they've posted several pictures of a supposed TMo Curve with an ugly gold case. This has been a concern to many of us ... basically because the gold case looks extremely CHEAP.

Well I've got the real scoop.

I called TMo today and the Curve specs are apparently out now on all TMo's rep's computer systems. I spoke with a TMo rep who went down the list and sited all the stats for the new TMo Curve.

Then I asked about the color.

Well folks, the color is certainly NOT gold. The Boy Genius Report has egg on their face and they've been using doctored photos and their info is all wrong. Major credibility loss for Boy Genius.

The TMo Curve will be released on September 24th in a BLACK case.

Congrats to all who have been crossing their fingers hoping this cool phone would come out in a black case. We now have the official word from TMo.

This topic has been beat to dead and a lot of people got the same information from tmo reps including myself however people come to a conclusion that reps are not reliable source. I'll keep my mouth shut for now and wait until the 24th.

If I stop by a T-Mobile corp store and see a flyer with details, I'll probably believe it. Else I'll just hang on till the 24th too.

One thing I HAVE noticed over the years is that when my buddies at the TMo store don't have solid info, they're just as anxious to find out about things like this as we are, and they're almost as likely to believe it when somebody like BG posts a report online. This is sort of like little kids playing Telephone -- whispering from kid to kid to kid, until the message comes out garbled at the end, and somehow also believed to be factual regardless of its original veracity. Sometimes the TMo folks might actually be guilty of quoting info as fact when it really just came the from the same sources that we see (and I'm certainly not dissing them or denigrating the great info that some of them will, in fact, share on a site like this).

Uh no.... It's not black. I'm a Tmo employee and we just got folders with a big GREY curve on the front. EVERY picture of it was grey on our learning material. So unless something drastic is going to happen, from everything i've seen as an EMPLOYEE it is grey. Though I wish it were black.

Default Its Gold and Silver

I posted this earlier last week and the 8320 will be Gold. I have it and these are my pictures. THey are not doctored. The ones Boy posted were my crappy ones taken with a roughly used 8100. These I took with my digital camera. I have included the picture of the box it came with and pictures of the Blackberry. Now the manual did have the silver on the cover. I have looked over the T-Mobile rep document and it states both colors will be available.

I think it's all of the colors....depends on what angle you're looking at it. Gold from one angle, grey from another angle and black at night.

So you know more than the T-Mobile rep looking directly at her computer with the full specs on her company's products?

That's amazing.

Not noted during my conversation with the rep looking directly at her computer with the full specs for her company's product.

The people here who claim to know more than TMo's own people amaze me.

It's black. The lady told me it was black. Not gold, silver or blue or any interchangable other option. Black.

Black, black, black.

Hmmm, guess we won't know for sure til the 24th. I also called TMO to ask about it and they said their specs said 'grey'.

I just don't want gold, so black or grey is fine with me!

It would be ideal for T-Mobile to release the Curve in a lovely-classy shade of black, however, the very chance of that happening is very unlikely. T-Mobile somehow enjoys catering to the kids. As previously state in another thread, maybe the Gold is just T-Mobile's exclusive color. Time will tell.

Our Tmo rep didnt even have a release date for us. We just got a new one assigned to us and he's not particularly useful.
