Is there a way either: download the attachment, so I can re-attach it to another email, or
forward the email, deleting all the original message, and adding my own?

Do I need a different Blackberry? Android OS?

Yes, you can download an attachment and then attach it to a new composed message, and it should be straightforward. Have you tried? If so, where do you stumble?

You can delete original text when replying, but not when forwarding. If you just want to forward only the attachment, I believe your best bet is to save it, compose a new message, and attach the attachment to the new message.

hmm, well, don't I feel sheepish?? It does work to download and then re-attach.

For some reason, since you can't forward and delete the message content, I just assumed...I have no idea...

Glad you got it sorted. It almost always pays to just try. And sometimes experiment as well.
