I can't say for sure how I would handle it. I wouldn't kill him, mind you, but would definately beat the living sh*t out of him. Just sickens me.
Doubt the dad will do much time if he gets a jury trial.

I am curious to know additional facts about this (although, perhaps it's better not to know).
Stuff like the 3yr old's relationship to the boy, did the dad have a history of being a 'violent' type, was he under the influence, was the girl his daughter (the boy's half-sister), did the boy have a history of this behavior, etc.

I have to ask myself how many future little girls did dad save? Would the kid have grown into a pedophile who raped and murdered 100's of little girls?
But to kill your own child execution style? Wow.... Still don't know how to take this...

oh my god. ok, i agree what the kid did wasn't right.. the father could have reprimanded him in another way.. but to kill his own flesh and blood? no way.
and the defense attorney says that the court should consider the father's 'state of mind' over the act? how do you defend.. or make a statement such as that for killing your OWN SON? Your own FLESH and blood?

The kid did it to his 3 year old half SISTER. That just might have affected the dad's state of mind. I'm not defending his actions, just that I can understand how angry he must have felt to find out his own son could do something like that. The kid needed heavy psycological held to keep from becoming more of a monster than he already was.

fair enough, half sister that too. but still.. killing your kid? the psychological help yes, maybe even juvi. but don't strip your kid and then kill him. |

I have 2 kids - my son is older and my daughter the younger one. I don't know what I would do in this case, but I know what I wouldn't do - I wouldn't kill my son.
I'm not condoning the boy's behavior by any means, but we don't have the whole picture. What was the nature of the abuse? Did it happen one time, or several times?
Very, very sad.

No caring or sane father could ever shoot his son execution style. What his son did (and I really couldn't see what he actually did in either story) was horrible. But a parent should always think that rehabilitation is possible. No one should ever serve as judge and jury, particularly if the sentence is death by gunshot to the head.
