There are no links on this board for illegal copies of OS 4.5, no need to look here.

The last thing I want is an unofficial copy of any OS. I had just googled this;

(OS 4.5 was release today4-1-08) Latest OS: 8310 4.5.0.28

and thought I missed the anouncement of the release.

Thank you for you info.

Look at the date Daniel... April 1, 2008.
That was April Fool's Day.

why are there only beta releases of 4.5 for 8310 and 8320? Nothing for 8300?

there is no such thing as a beta release for any of them. there are leaks, nothing more.

Wow no more IT policy anymore!! it took away the left overs. I could have sworn there was an article on BGR on this feature and told you where to go.

You crack me up, we can't let it spread here... It's not like its top secret or anything like that. For pete's sake its beta software and everybody treats it like we need level 10 clearance to get our hands on it or post anything about it.

Been using the beta OS 4.5 beta for a week. Have only had my device crash once, there is a huge memory leak in this version. Yes I know its in beta stage. Can't wait to load .18 version of this build, supposed to get it tomorrow. Once I load it and play around, I will report back.

Over 10,000 views of this thread! Maybe RIM will notice that there is an interest in the new OS and they will get it introduced by Christmas!

I am still betting that we will not see it till AFTER the 9000 is introduced!

so then again I have to ask how it was that only the 8310 & 8320 versions were leaked? The leaked copies I found wouldn't load onto my 8300.

davidkoby, I would surmise that those two are the more popular models, i.e., those OSs "appear".

my apologies. I re-read this before posting and saw no wrong; perhaps a clearer statement would benefit us-

just got one. no requesting the OS. nothing to do with downloading the OS here. discussions of the OS itself, yes, discussions of how to get it, where to get it, or asking for it, no.

yes, I understand - I meant perhaps edit the sticky, which is probably most naive posters' first check (as it was mine)
