9630, v5.0.0.975 (bundle 1600, platform4.2.0.424)

Tried to download and install a new app today. It appears to download and install properly, but once trying to run it I get the Module net_rim_crypto not found error. It is an app from my financial institution to check my accounts online.

It also seems to have really bogged the phone down...at least initially.

Have rebooted, done a battery pull with the phone off, and even hooked to blackberry desktop manager. Every other function seems to be working properly, emails coming in, browser works, BBM.

Any suggestions?

I downloaded it from the bank's site...it just said that it was for a Blackberry.

Following up on Dubdub's question, I did some searching, and what little I found dealt with OS 6. And see RBHybrid's 9700 v3.0 (5.0.0.743/862/5.2.0.9/6.0.0.31/.135/.141) - Page 2 - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com, which I take at face value.

I can't explain what happened, but I wonder same as Dubdub if that app is maybe not for your OS version.

I read a bit about upgrading to OS 6.0 yesterday, but from the official Verizon wireless site it seems that only 5.0 is available for my phone.

I'm just not sure if I am technical enough (or motivated enough) to try to install a hybrid 6.0 onto my 9630 right now...just for this specific app...which I'm not sure if I really want or not as I haven't seen it run yet.

If there was a way to just plug the net_rim_crypto file into the Java folder on my current OS, I might try that though.

But it is probably getting in just a bit over my head. I've also tried to get an answer from Merrill about this problem...but past experience tells me that won't work well either.
