Default How to use my Torch as a WiFi hotspot/tethering

Please Login to Remove!

Guys,

My wife has a Torch and wants to buy a PlayBook; but we don't know how to use the phone as a WiFi hotspot or at least connect them with an USB cable and tether it.

Can you help me?

The 9800 cannot be used as a hotspot.

You need to read through the Playbook section for more information on bridging.

To add to what Dubdub says above, the Bridge is super simple to set up, and will allow browsing using the BlackBerry handset's data connection. You can also tether, but that may not be necesaary, if the Bridge is adequate.

The PlayBook user manual is available at blackberry.com. Get that and read it first. Then browse the forums and read the issues some people are having. But read the manual first, and you'll understand what is being discussed.

And just to add that the bridging and connection between the BlackBerry and the PlayBook is done via Bluetooth.
