Hi guys...

I've got the 8520 Curve, and a couple of days ago had to upgrade BBM and App World. The upgraded BBM works fine, but I'm having problems with App World. When I go into it, it comes up with a message, 'A Blackberry Identity update is needed. Would you like to install it now?' And then it has a 'Yes' or 'No' option. When I click the 'Yes' option, it says 'Contacting Blackberry ID Server', and then has a progress bar which only starts at '0' and stays there, and then comes up with this error: 'Blackberry Identity installation failed. Please try again later (80003)', and then it goes out of the program. I've tried at least 5 times, and come up with the same result...

If I click the 'No' option, this is the message that comes up, 'An update of Blackberry Identity is required before you can use Blackberry App World', and then it also goes out of the program...

What can I do?? It's not as if there's a bad signal and it can't update.

Any suggestions?? I can't use App World at all. If I want to quickly search for an App, it allows me to for a couple of seconds, and then comes up with that message. Help!

Do you have BlackBerry Protect installed? Some folks have suggested a conflict is occurring and that the solution is to uninstall BlackBerry Protect, do a battery pull after uninstalling it, and then re-install BB Protect. First sing into BB Protect, then try signing into App World.

This is a known issue on Vodacom.

If that doesn't work, you can uninstall App World and then re-install an earlier version from the following link: http://santo.asia/repository/bb-file...5/AppWorld.jad
You can paste this link directly into your web browser and it should install automatically. Folks on the BlackBerry Support Forums are reporting success with this option.

i downloaded your link above on to my bb bold 9700 but bb app world isnt there

Thanks guys, will try uninstalling App World, and try installing the older version.
Just a quick question though...the latest update of App World was version 3.1.0.56. The one on the link is 3.0.1.29...won't that cause problems? It's seriously outdated :P
Just curious and a bit worried? Isn't there a link to the version before the recent update?

BlackBerry reported that the latest update for App World sucks (my words not theirs) They also reported that they have no idea when it will be fixed. ONLY way to fix it is to uninstall, then install the older version ( ://rroyy.com/otaarchive/) and do not update. It's the only thing that worked for me.

I have the same problem. I deleted BB protect, took out the battery, reinstalled BB protect, reinstalled appworld, but it is still not working. I also tried the link provided earlier in order to download the older version, but the link gives me a time out message. Please, please help?

I got mine to work!!! )Yay! I unticked the Vodacom tickbox, and connected my phone to the wireless network at work and downloaded appworld. It is working perfectly now! Go to any coffee shop or place where you can connect to the wireless network, download appworld, install it and you will see that it works.

I am getting really fed up with this stupid blackberry stuff.

I have the same error mentioned above when trying to get into the application world. The moment I open it it says i need to update my Id and then when I say yes it says connecting and stays at "0", then says update failed and goes out of the application.

I have now deleted blackberry protect as suggested above and now I cant download it again, as the only link I have is for app world and guess what, app world does not work.

Please provide the links that will work for the installation and downgrade or whatever.

I cannot activate my wifi as I have no wifi spots nearby that dont need passwords - and I dont know the passwords.

Like I said, I am really fed up and this bb is going to fly very soon. by fly I mean into the ocean or space against a meteor.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hey guys I have the same problem. It seems to be the most common reccuring problem with bb on the net. I have tried all the fixes you guys have posted. I once got to where the bar went all the way to 100 percent and stuck there for two hours till I did a battery pull. I have tried everything been googling solutions for months. Tried all your guys fix up solutions, did the apn thing and the host routing thingy and the whole works did the delete old version and reinstall older version, keeps giving me download failed error code 907 cod. Is there anithing else I can do? Please? Any techi out there lol? I'm desperate here xoxoxo
