Default Blackberry Bold - Media Card Issues

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone...

We have one of our customers with an 8gb media card that keeps loosing the Bold or the Bold keeps loosing the media card. She is saying she will be in the middle of composing an email and a nag popup keeps telling her there is no media card and then there is a media card.

She was migrated from an 8310 Curve. To compound the issue, we use encryption on all the cards. It is a bit of a challange to move data off using the 4.6DM with Roxio. This combination has been tested in our environment and it works but it is slow. We are thinking to move the data off and format the card to see if this stops this nag message about the card dissapearing.
We have just formated the card and will keep this under observation....

Has anyone else seen this behavior?

I would suggest that you use the device to format the media card after you have backed it up.

Also note that certain BB OS, can read certain size sd cards, see the link Supported MicroSD Card Sizes For BlackBerry « Kirrin Jones

Wirelessly posted (bold 9000)

Roxio in my opinion stinks for transfering files. If you turn on mass media when connected to the cpu it should show up as a removable drive.(Storage divice). Then you can transfer files with ease. Also is this only doing it while composing emails? And have you used the card in a different phone to see if it acts up in it also? Could be the card and not the bold.
