I think this thread is just about done. Mr. Williams apparently got lost running in circles.

Speaking of bodies in the freezer...this thread needs a light moment.

A young man named Jon received a parrot as a gift.

The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.

Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity.

Jon tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary.

Finally Jon was fed up and he yelled at the parrot.

The parrot yelled back.

Jon shook the parrot and the parrot got even angrier and more rude.

Jon in desperation, threw up his hands and grabbed the bird and threw him in the freezer.

For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed.

Then, suddenly there was total quiet, not a peep was heard.

Fearing that he had hurt the parrot, Jon quickly opened the door to the freezer.

The parrot calmly stepped out onto Jon's outstretched arm and said "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions."

"I am sincerely remorseful for any inappropriate transgressions."

"I fully intend to do everything I can do to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior".

Jon was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude.

He was about to ask the parrot why he had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, but the bird continued... "May I ask...what did the turkey do?"

All they need to do is use the Javaloader and we'll provide them with the .cod file. It's very easy to extract a theme off of a BlackBerry using Javaloader. My friends and I have shared PLENTY of premium themes with our extended group of friends as well as members on different forums and we'll continue to do so!! As long as people are out there charging for themes with graphics, icons, etc... that they didn't clear with the proprietary owners of said media we'll be there to pool our money and them share them with anyone who wants them.
You should PM me. I can help

I have 4 themes I downloaded on my BB. 1 paid for, 3 for free so i think i fit your target audience this is directed to.

To answer your 1st question, there is a premium on BB themes because, we live in a market economy. Anyone is entitled to charge a premium for any product or service they offer. It is up to the individual to decide whether the premium is worth the cost to them. If a individual purchased something they could get for free with research/effort, it is a individual's choice to make.

To answer your 2nd question, why does the BB community enable the charging of themes, because for 99.99% of the community, it doesn't affect them. If a individual wanted a theme that was being charged, they make their choice of whether to purchase it or not. Also, from a personal standpoint, who am I to stop someone from attempting to make a buck?

Maybe you have the skills and/or time available to make the same exact theme but this does not necessarily mean I may have the skill and/or time to create a theme I like. And at a typical cost of $5, lets say, hypothetically, it will take a avg person 1hr to create the theme, I dunno about you but I am sure the typical BB user makes more then $5/hr, so to spend $5 and buy a "premium theme", they are at a positive in terms of time value of money. (I am sure we all heard the joke about Bill Gates bending over to pick up a $100 bill and in the time spent to pick it up, he "technically" lost money.) Your a consumer who can choose what you spend with your money, so whats the big deal with letting other consumers make that choice also? Who cares?

In the end, why does it bother you so much? Because obviously you like to come off intelligent enough to have figured this out on your own. If this seems to cause enough of an itch and seem so unfathomable, what about the infamous "Pet Rock"? (Personally I picture a head inflating like a balloon like this one scene in Big City Little China, but I digress and it is also not meant to be a personal attack.)

Btw the 1 theme I purchased was PS's "vista". I dont consider myself a "artist" or a "innovator/guru" but IMHO, it impressed me enough so I purchased it. And this is after not purchasing ANY theme/Wallpaper for any product in my life.

Mr. Williams went to work... or is that not ok? See, apparently its ok for people here to make personal jabs like that but I can't have a conversation without people pointing out that I'm being antagonizing . Is that how it works here?

Which is it? You went to work or you're never coming back? Or is it whichever lets you argue more?

No I didn't mean a premium over other BB themes. What I meant was a premium over free windows themes. A concept many people are continually failing to grasp.

A little help:

Difficulty and creativeness
Windows XP/Vista Themes > Blackberry Themes

General Price
Blackberry Themes > Windows XP/Vista Themes

Any questions?

I went to work and I wasn't intending on coming back but If I'm going to remain a part of this forum I'm not going to sit by while people throw personal attacks at me... Which you did just now again by referring to whatever I said as BS.

Done now. Your question has been answered (several times).

Leaving it open is like throwing a lit cigarette in dry brush.....
