Ok, I've got a bit of a problem. My Bold was acting up a lot (every few weeks, the phone would freeze and heat up/crash and I'd have to BackUp, WipeOut and the Restore.
2 weeks ago, I decided that I should try just restoring just my phone book and messages/emails. Only now, a new problem has presented itself... I can receive emails but I can't reply emails. What pops up is "No message services configured. You will only be able to Save Draft"
What do I do?
The guys in Celcom Blue Cube in Pavilion didn't know what to do...

jaui,
sorry to hear that you're facing probs with your bold. Have you tried re-sending service books after each restore? Try doing that via your BIS site. Once completed, do a batt pull. give it a couple of mins and put it back. Hope that'll work.

gfunk11,
Thanks for the heads-up. Been waiting a while for that to happen - that guy Baha is the supplier I believe, and he had mentioned that it was in the process at the time.
Will definitely have to make a trip over real soon!
Cheers,
P.

jaui,
are you on BIS or BES? If you're on BIS, here are the sites you can log-into:
1. Celcom: BlackBerry Internet Service
2. Maxis: BlackBerry Internet Service
Once you log-in, go to the left side menu where it says Service Books. Click that and you'll see a Send Service Book button. Click that and it'll send over the service books. Kind of like a refresh.
For BES, just contact your Admin, they'll know what to do. Hope this helps.
pongee,
yeah, i think it is Baha. Soleen Strategies. They've extensive accessories for you to choose from. I'm heading over again today to get the leather horizontal case. Hehehe... itching all the way... hahaha...

Thanks gfunk11!
I already fixed it yesterday doing exactly what you said to do. just had a small problem of not remembering my username! had to sit on the phone with celcom for a little while, but eventually it worked! plus i'm liking the new celcom premium service line... the staff on the phone there are so much better...
Hopefully, my phone doesn't crash anymore! *fingers crossed*

Wirelessly posted (7100g)
Thanks to gfunk's tip off went to Blue Cube Pavilion today and got meself a swivel belt holster and screen protector. I must say that that bold swile holster is superior to the 8800 I bought earlier - it doesn't dig into my ever expanding stomach
Very confortable and mucho pleased. Nothing like a bit of retail therapy!
Cheers,
P.

Some notes about my trip to blue cube:
- The lighting is a bit odd and does not show colours up very well. They will appear subdued in the shop. I saw the Ti colour case and it looks pretty cool. Also, my brown holster is lighter in shade than when I viewed it in store. Luckily I didn't go for the blue one!
- The staff are really polite and bend over backwards for you once you get their attention. Else you can simply browse to you hearts content without any 'hassle'. However, their POS System was non-functional on the day...
- I found it actually rather difficult at first to locate the Bold accessories - maybe its because I'm blind as a bat, but perhaps for us optically challenged individuals they should have some brighter/distinctive signage to attract your attention.
Cheers,
P.

Hi. I need some help guys.
I am a Malaysian studying in India. Interested to get a Blackberry Bold. I always wanted to get a BB, and now the Bold is going to be my first BB. Vodafone is selling it here in India for a price of Rs34,000 (RM3000). I will be back in Malaysia next week for my one month vacation. I plan to get it from Maxis, just the device which according to the website, it is going for RM2199. My concern is, 1. will I be able to use it in India? (unlocked phone?) 2. It says I need to sign up RM20 as the minimum data plan. does this mean I have to keep paying it even if I do not use my mobile in Malaysia? or I just have to pay it once to fulfill their requirements? will the device work with a prepaid simcard (hotlink) ?
your help will be much appreciated. Thank you!
Regards.

Cattlebull -
Why don't you head to Pavilion's Blue Cube and ask your questions there... I know that they're under Celcom and you were planning to go Maxis, but they might be able to help you out.
I think you have to buy the phone outright (and not under a plan) if you don't plan to use it in Malaysia and sign up in India. I'm not very clear on whether the phone is locked to the network you bought it from, so i think you'll just have to go to the centre and find out. The guys at the Blue Cube in Pavilion are pretty good at answering questions (i have felt so far)... and best bet would be to ask them
anyway, the phone is way cheaper here than it is in India, so just buy it and then find someone to crack it if necessary...

I have a question to all the helpful people on this particular thread!
What is the best OS to have right now and where is the best place to download it? I'm running on .162 at the moment and have so far encountered very few problems. Is it a good idea to upgrade?
Thanks!

Mine is also running on .162 and it was automatically upgrade since i'm using the latest Deskstop Manager V4.7.
So far I just encountered that my device is very slow during to restart after pull out the battery, and I have tried many times to download the latest OS but there is no luck. ;-(
Happy Bolding!
