Lightbulb Beta 2 of Beyond411 4.0

Please Login to Remove!

The second beta release of Beyond411 4.0 is available for over the air install at http://thebogles.com/beta/berry411.jad

Beyond411 4.0 features some of the fastest local searches of any Blackberry app, over twice as fast as previous Beyond411 versions.

This beta release adds configuration options under "Edit Settings..." to turn on and off network autocomplete and the new yellow pages functionality.

It also features better error messages in the event of network connection errors. I am hoping that these will help me troubleshoot networking issues reported by some users of devices running OS4.2.

Please give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Great. Thanks for a great tool.

When I first went to Beyond 411 after a reboot, I get an error starting berry411: Error loading module 'berry411' OutofMemoryError.

I get the same error. It takes about 10 seconds to generate the error after trying to open Beyond411. My BB is running noticibly slower after the install reboot as well.

Phil,

First, this continues to be far and away my most essential addition to a BB. Thanks for continuing to develop it.

Beta 2 Works fine for me on an 8700g with the latest 4.2.1 software. No issues with performance, etc. I should add I'm on T-Mobile and BES but to get autocomplete to work I need to select "direct connection".

A couple of suggestions from my perspective.

I really like the "cleanliness" of the new yellow pages listing. However, I miss the ability to get a map. With the old yellow pages listing it now does not support the links at the top of the page for items like the map so you have to scroll down which makes it harder to use. I tend to prefer the map since many time the directions don't recognize traffic congestion etc so seeing the map lets me craft my own mental directions...

So - long winded comment leading to a request - can you add "map" to the menu for the new yellow pages (my preference) and/or put the links back at the top of the "old" yellow pages?

Thanks,
SMF

I uninstalled, then redownloaded and installed the app again, but same error again. I'm on an 8703e, OS version 4.10.344.

Yes, I will be adding a "Map" menu item in the new yellow pages. I believe that I will be able to make this route to the Blackberry Maps application in OS4.2.

I'm getting out of memory error, too. Have rebooted and also have deleted and reinstalled the app. No luck. Guess I'll try pulling the battery.

That's without launching beyond411. BB is locked up when I launch and get the error message.

Excellent! Thank you. I am particularly fond of the toggle on/off network autocomplete because for some reason it doesn't work with my particular setup (note: it still doesn't), so I can now toggle it off. Also, the "new yellow pages" still pops up with the white screen and hangs (so I've toggled that "off" as well). Cingular; 8800; BES; v.4.2.1.72.

Thanks Phil. Again, I love this product even with the above issues with my particular setup.

Thanks!

i am having an issue with the program just sitting there

CIngular 8800; BES; v.4.2.1.72

defualt settings didnt work, the icon would just stay flashing loading after i have selected yellow pages and under settings new yellow pages is being used. i went into settings and switched to direct connection and then it worked, but now it just goes to a white screen

switch to bes connection and still get the loading flashing over the icon in the corner...no love

uncheck new yellow pages and network autocomplete with direct connection and the browser launches but just stays on requesting

uncheck new yellow pages and network autocomplete with default connection and the same problem with the browser. it launches and just stays on requesting.

seems like there is a problem with the yellow pages portion as if i just use the google search from the menu with uncheck new yellow pages and network autocomplete with default connection it loads google results

hope this helps
