Everything ran normally most of the day today. At about 5:30 there was about a 5 minute delay sending an e-mail. It was received on the other end OK, but that was the end.
No messages, no web since then.

it only takes one person 5 minutes every hour or 2 to write a quick update as to how long we customers will be waiting. rim sells an item that makes it easy to be away from the office... if you're away and their product is not working, they should be giving you an idea of how long you're going to be f'd.

If VZW had an iPhone I'd be there but I do not like AT&T...do NOT like AT&T...
Did I say I didn't like AT&T?

Nothing here in California-no email/web. Can't log into email service either. Phone works. Must be sabotage by Droid. Last time this happened, RIM said they had fixed everything, but I didn't get service back until the next day. Why do they lie? I just switched to BB from Palm 2 months ago, and am very disappointed. Would have stuck to the Centro if they still made them.

The ultimate insult has been my wife with her iPhone getting all data services. She has no clue what she's doing, but she knows she's doing stuff that I'm not. RIM has had enough data outages lately that their uptime CANNOT be equal to the data provided by the carriers to non-BlackBerry devices. Their once-bulletproof services now looks like a slice of Swiss Cheese. Hey RIM - welcome to mediocracy.

Sorry about the slight rant....I am an IT professional and know that outages can happen but talk about bad timing?!?! I was on Jury Duty and had no access to email or internet starting at 1:00pm PST. I am really going to pay the price for this one RIM. Ouch.

So grab a favorite beverage and wait it out.
Dont fret and have some real life fun for a while.
I am going to have a beer and make a snowman.
No sense in worries. it will come back and we can all play with our devices again.
Wonder if they are doing some upgrades and we get a bonus from it.

Understood Knotty. Under normal circumstances it's no big deal and I am with you on just chilling, but I was out of pocket with major implementations going on, rough time for it. I have a cold beer now and am enjoying uninterrupted billiards with some friends!

My blackberry keeps turning the radio signal off on its own. I'm on AT&T and have a Bold. As soon as I hit the send button it asks me if it wants to restore the radio connection. Is this happening because of the outage?

I am just reporting that I have 15 devices on TELUS MIKE/PCs on BES that are not at all working.
My BES server cannot connect to RIM NOC (SRP connect failed)
Girlfriend Rogers bb is experiencing problems, pin and data.
Any word from RIM or such, been down since like 10 AM for me.
All in Ontario for me.

OK, I confess to being totally confused here. I understand that RIM's data service is down - but why can't you access the internet via WiFi anyway? Does every single internet access you make go through the RIM servers at some point, even if you're using WiFi???

The WAP browser will work without a BB data connection. It uses apn/tcpip...
Works fine.
