i wondered if there was any free or nor free apps that will open rar & zip files ? im also looking for a pdf reader and possible office suite to view microsoft word docs.

id prefer free, but if not im willing to look into anything.

Ziplorer for the zip files...
not for rar, none that i know of.

For office documents, see DocumentsToGo upon upgrading to 4.5 OS, free for the standard version for Word, Excel and Powerpoint. The premium upgrade gives you a very nice PDF viewer.

Hi,
I use Documents to Go.
It comes with OS 4.5. It allows you to view and edit Word and Powerpoint files. You can also get a free update that allows you to view Excel files.

There's also Documents to Go Premium. This allows you to create new docs and has advanced editing features, as wll as an additional PDF viewer.

You I would definitly get DTG premium in you are gonna be a heavy PDF/MS Doc user.. Ziplorer is also going to be the best solution for you and zip files..

I would also get a Media to store all the documents if you don't have one already.

on my 8330 with v4.5.0.66 i can view the PDF attachments without the need of any additional software.

You can only view PDF files as attachments not ones you have saved to your Media Card. So you don't software if you take the time to email the file to yourself everytime.

And you can't save the email attachment. Or I don't know how, but that is what I ran into with my new curve so far.
