Unhappy My Blackberry got wet? :(

Please Login to Remove!

It accidently fell in the sink while I was washing dishes. I immediatly removed the battery and tries drying it. This occurred last night, and this morning I tried to put the battery in and see if it worked but it doesn't. :( A green light does appear in the up right corner of the phone. Any advice?

Oh boy , not good.

NEVER put the battery back in within 4-5 days of the accident.

As a last resort before getting a new one , open it up and use a hair dryer on low to attempt to dry it out. Unfortunatly putting the battery in may have finished it but its worth a try.

Dont overheat it, take your time, let it cool down and repeat a few times.

Based on your name, if married, never do dishes again, let the husband do them

I used chemical drying agents in a sealed container. Putting the battery back in may not be horrible, I did the same. I did not leave it in though, hope you didn't either.

There is always craigslist....

i had my bold in my pocket and slipped into the pool while walking past it.

got my phone out of my pocket when still in the pool. the phone had gone off on its own.

pulled out the battery and left it to dry overnight without the battery and battery cover. when I put back the battery the next day the phone worked, but the screen showed some lines running diagonally. i thought the screen had gone kaput. was planning to order a new screen from cnn.cn the next day.

the next morning, the lines were considerably thinner and shorter. so opened up the phone again and let it dry, but this time I opened it up completely (battery, battery cover, bezel, mid plate and screen).

put it all back together after a few hours and the lines were almost gone. only a small blotch (wet patch) was left int he centre of the screen, which slowly evaporated (in about 12 hours).

my phone is back to normal and working fine!
