I just picked up a new Pearl for Cingular after having a 8700 on Tmo.

Used the restore setting to copy over all of my info from the 8700 to the pearl.

Only glitch I have now, I have the little missed call icon (1x"picture of phone)

I have cleared all my call logs, dialed calls, but it is still there. Also did a hard reset (pulled battery) to no avail :(

Any ideas?

Everything is backed up , so I am game to anything (the phone is all of 30 minutes old)

I am still adjusting to the dang keyboard, but the size is nice.

Welcome to the forums!

That does sound frustrating. Have you tried the 'Delete Prior' option? That will delete all email/phone calls/sms, etc from your messages (new stuff will come in fine afterwards).

Urban, you said you cleared all your call logs, dialed calls, etc., BUT did you check specifically the MISSED CALL log: Message folder > View Folder > Missed Calls?

Yes I have checked everything, the folders are showing empty, but the icon remains. Then I did a search outside the pearl forum and found this is a common issue on the 8800. So I ended up wiping the device, and am rebuilding it now... Hopefully it stays corrected, as the wipe is the only cure so far on the other forums.

What I've found that works...is in the phone or call log, highlight the missed call, hit the menu key, scroll to and select "view history". That clears the missed call indicator on my pearl.

This was a common issue on the Pearl as well. I haven't seen the issue myself since 4.2.0.42, though.

your best bet is to call your provider. Ask them to turn of the missed call notification on your account. Leave that off for a bit and call back and have them turn it back on.

This worked for TMO US however it did not work for orange UK.

Thanks guys, I ende dup wiping it to resolve this issue. Now if only I could get it to play MP3's...
