How much are they going for in SG at the moment? I've seen prices ranging from $1 - 1.3k.
I'll be in SG next week, so wouldn't mind getting one while I'm there. Any suggestions for purchase location? I'd prefer an official set with warranty.
Thanks in advance
Cheers,
P.

Hey fboor,
Thanks for the update. Are the lucky plaza one's parallel/grey imports, or from the official distributor?
Cheers,
P.

Are you sure of the above info?
I just got a BlackBerry Bold from Starhub on their 2 year plan and it doesn't recognize a Singtel SIM. I called up StarHub and they said it won't recognize a any other SIM except StarHub because I am on a "Closed Line". When I double checked, if it meant I am going to be on their "Closed Line" for 2 years, they said "Yes, Thank you for calling Starhub".
Please confirm if I have this information correct. I really would like to "Unlock" my phone so I can use my Singtel line on BB.

Go to Settings > Advanced > SIM Card and Type "MEPD".
If you get Network as "disabled" then the phone is unlocked. If it says "Active" then the phone is locked.
I thought in Singapore the carrier has to legally unlock the phone?

You can go to Customer Care Center to unlock
For those of you who have purchase a Starhub set, just go to any of the 4 customer service centers and ask them to unlock the set. They will do it in 10 mins. That was what i did. I am on M1 now with a Starhub BOLD set.

Good stuff - thanks...
Now, I did this and it says:
SIM Card: Security Disabled
Sim - Disabled
Network - Active EDIT - Sorry RTFM! I see it now!
Network Subset - Disabled
Service Provider - Disabled
Corp Phone # - Disabled
What does this all mean? Is the phone locked? Or?
(sorry for the nooobie question - I never knew this trick!)
H.

Got mine last week from Far East Plaza @ S$1050. There are 2 shops there that sells BB Bold, the one I usually go to for getting my phones is Mobile Square (mobilesquare.com.sg) and they're selling @S$1080 (last i checked). I got mine from Mobilesoft which is right across Mobile Square.
Mine is a Starhub set, but since I upgraded the OS to 4.6.0.150, the Starhub logo wasn't there during the startup. Don't know exactly what happened, but the phone is working fine till now.

Is there anyplace in SG that is selling the Blackberry Bold/8800 accessories? Specifically I am after a side case holster thing, and will be staying on Orchard Road for a couple of days starting tomorrow.
Would greatly appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction.
Cheers,
P.

just 1 tip for foreigner buying thing at lucky plaza.....
check the standard accesories......
base on my experience before... many shops try to offer you other standard accessories which they put out from the box.... why??? to get more profit.....
just a sharing......2 years ago i want to buy an o2 at lucky plaza... they gave me standard price... i said .. ok... because it a standard price from what i saw in newspaper....
but when i look the unit and looking for the standard acc that should include in the package from the manual... i got 1 page missing.... they already taken out the extra stylus and the usb cable...
when i ask the shopkeeper, he said that 2 things you must buy... because it not in a package.... when i insist to see other package... he go to take another one but also there is no extra stylus and the usb cable.....
so i just leave the store let him grumble in hokkien... when to other place.... at people's park.. i got more cheaper here and i don't need to argue with the shopkeeper.....
