Default is it possible to delete emails on BB automatically when i delete it from my outlook?

Please Login to Remove!

hi all,

i know i m keep asking silly questions but i m new to blackberry and have to support 6 blackberry in my office. so far my knowledge about recieving email to blackberry says that there r 3 ways to do that (correct me if i m wrong)

1: desktop redirector
2: Blackberry internet services
3: Blackberry enterprise server.

i dont mind using any option but my priority is that When any user delete their email from MS outlook it should be deleted from their blackberry. so far i have tried option 1 n 2 but no luck with that. i think its possible to do with BES server but as i m new i m struggling to install in on my Windows 2003 SBS Server.

please help me what should i do to sort out this problem.

many thanks

Desktop redirector only forwards emails to your BB.
BIS wireless reconcile takes some delay time.
With BES, you have complete control.

A BES expert should be able to help you out.
Let's wait, see and find out. Good luck!

You can use BES or BlackBerry Professional Software with Exchange 2003 and you'll have full sync / reconciliation of email, calendar, contacts, etc.

Check out this comparison RIM has.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

2) For BIS, deleting from outlook will not delete from BB

If you are using an exchange version of Outlook, you can set it up that if you delete from bb you can delete with outlook but NOT the reverse.

He's referencing when connected to a BES and not having hard delete support enabled. This doesn't pertain to you.

Yes, it will take a long time with BIS/OWA to reconcile, but it will work.

With BIS there is no OTA sync of PIM data so users are required to plug in via USB cable and run Desktop Manager.

Default PST Folders

In outlook you can create personal folders(PST) that can reside on your HD. I use these to store backup of my emails. I have notice that when I move emails to the PST folders they do not dissappear drom my inboxc on the BB (although they are gone from my inbox in outlook)
I think this is a know issue.
Hope it helps

I'd say BES is the best option but BIS is meeting your requirement since you're on Exchange -- something you didn't mention that is important (you have been using Outlook with a POP account for all we knew and reconciliation is impossible with that setup).

I'd say stick with BIS. If you're struggling with SBS I can't recommend getting involved with BES.

What he meant was telling us that you use Exchange and SBS. Thats a very important point.

BES is the correct thing to do. Don't fight it with BIS. IMO

This is not an issue, this is the way it should be.

If you delete an Email in Outlook it will delete from your BB.

However, If I file an important Email in Outlook I Definitely don't want it being deleted from my BB. what if I want that info when I am not at my PC? what if I want to save it (in my saved messages folder) on my BB?

If you want to delete it from your BB you can (and it won't affect the saved copy in Outlook), but to automatically have it delete an Email you consider important enough to save on your PC makes no sense.

Well personally I would like my BB to reflect my outlook. That is if I have pst folder in outlook ideally I would like them to also appear in my BB. Furthermore if I move email from inbox to a pst folder in Outlook then this should be reflected in BB. That is structure of outlook to exactly the same on BB

I wish my BB ran on magic too.

Fortunately, BES is pretty close to magic. But I don't think it will work with PST files, since that's not where Exchange stores emails. The problem is that the BB isn't meant to synchronize with your "Outlook"; it's meant to receive forwarded mail from your mail server and send out mail through the mail server. It also may reconcile (notice the term--reconcile, not sync) what you have sent/read/not read/deleted to various degrees depending on whether you have BES/BIS via OWA/BIS via POP, etc. What you get depends on what service you have. As JSanders asked, do you have BES and/or Exchange?

Do you have another account in your Outlook or do you just store emails in a PST for backup? If you feed us a little more information I'm sure you will find the answer you're looking for.
