Default Can backlight come on when a message comes in?

Please Login to Remove!

I thought I saw this addressed before but I can't find it.

Is there a way to have the screen light up when a message comes in? I would really like to see them as they come in as opposed to having to grab the unit and push the buttons to be able to see who sent what. Thanks!

I have wondered about this too, one of my good friends won't buy the pearl until he confirms this feature. Currently he has a 7200 series which has the transreflective screen which can be seen without backlight.

Cross River Systems is their site. It is not free, but it is an outstanding application.

By the way, I have PocketDay and you can set the e-mail notifier to include the display backlight coming on when e-mail arrives. It works as advertised on the Pearl.

The program is only $20.

How does PocketDay handle SMS? Can you separate SMS from Email or are they bundled together?
