Default Curve 8330 Build Quality

Been playing around with my 8330 all day and noticed that there is an ever so slight amount of play in the keyboard. The UIO bank of keys seem to float ever so lightly above the springs and rattle (for want of a better word) if touched lightly. Typing gives no issues.

Took a look at a few other Curves (8310s) and they seem a bit more solid (more like the keyboard on the 8703e).

Worth hassling my corporate rep about to get a new unit or is this considered within acceptable limits?

Got someone in the office who will be taking delivery on an 8330 sometime next week so will do that. Just wrote to my rep about it and asked him to check out any units he might have on hand as well.

It seems like a really minor issue, but once you get fixated on something that bothers you, it's going to always bother you.

Cheers.

I have a Verizon 8330. Its keyboard is more solid and "stuck in place" than my T-Mobile 8320 that I've been using for a while now.

The "loose" keyboard on the T-Mo Curve doesn't cause me any issues, or noise.

I own a 8310 an my keyboard is rock solid. My 8310 is 4 months old and no dust under screen and no keyboard rattle.

P.S. I think you should get it replaced while you still have the time to do so.

I have one of the first Telus branded 8330's and my keyboard is rock solid, with absolutely no play whatsoever in the keys. I would take it back if I were you, or at least take it to a dealer and compare it with a new one from the store.

The keyboard on my 8320 slides about as well, but I've never had issues with it.

In fact, being a particularly fidgety type, I look at it as a feature - shifting the keys around gives my thumb something harmless to do instead of fooling with the more dangerous trackball.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. I'll speak to my rep or swing by a Bell store this weekend and take a look.

Cheers.
